Chocolate covered strawberries are my absolute go-to guilty pleasure. I don’t know why I don’t make these more often as they are delicious and they’re easy to make and look impressive to guests. They’re a quick and fun dessert to serve at your next party!
- Milk chocolate (I used Cadbury’s Dairy Milk)
- 1tsp Vegetable oil
- Melt the chocolate with the vegetable oil in the microwave every 30 seconds until its melted and you get a smooth consistency
- After you wash the strawberries make sure you pat them dry with a paper towel before dipping them into the chocolate. Once dipped, place on a plate lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for about an hour.
If there’s one thing you need to know about me, it’s that I love to go out for lunch and dinners. Don’t get me wrong, I do like to cook, but it just doesn’t come out right like it does at the restaurants 😛 One of my favorite restaurants to go here in Dubai is a place called Shakespeare. They have many locations all over the UAE and the ambience of it makes you feel like your out of a scene of Marie-Antoinette. It’s got that chic Victorian interior and honestly you feel like you’re in a doll’s house, which I love! I am beyond girly, so I love the feminine touch to it.
The food here is exquisite. You really get your money’s worth. As soon as you sit down, the staff will bring you fresh hot bread with creamy garlic and cilantro butter.
I kept it simple and ordered a chicken carbonara with snow beans and walnuts. The portion sizes are quite big so if you’re a small eater like me, I would definitely share a meal with someone. When it comes to dessert here, you are spoiled for choice. I honestly did not know what to order and when I did, I felt like I was on a sugar high. That’s how sweet it was lol. But look how pretty they all look. How can you resist right?
I don’t know why, but ever since I’ve come to the US, I’m obsessed with cheesecake! It doesn’t matter what type it is, whether its blueberry, raspberry, chocolate, or strawberry, I love all cheesecakes. ( I know, I’m going to get so FAT) But it just tastes so good!
Anyway, I decided to actually make mini cheesecakes with peanut butter for the first time, and I’m surprised them came out well. Usually I mess it up the first time, and by the 3rd time, it finally comes out right. But first time was a charm, and thanks to this Pinterest Recipe my husband loved it.
I did alter the recipe though by adding chocolate and peanut butter chips to the topping instead of chocolate ganache. I also used graham crackers for the crust instead of chocolate Oreo cookies.
